The Remita mandate can be activated in two ways:
- Automated activation
- Manual activation
Automated Activation
Once the loan application has been approved, the customer will be required to activate the Remita mandate on their account before the funds can be disbursed. There is a list of banks that currently supports the automated Remita mandate activation. The banks are:
- FCMB
- Heritage Bank
- Sterling Bank
- Jaiz Bank
- Providus Bank
- Keystone Bank
- Wema Bank
- Fidelity Bank
- Zenith Bank
The customers who use any of the banks above will need to first consent to have their account directly debited and then send OTP.
After giving consent, the customer is required to input an OTP which will be sent to their phone, as well as input the last 4 digits of the bank card linked to that account.
In the event that the customer is unable to validate OTP, they can click the option to Skip and download my mandate form and take the mandate form to the bank for activation,.
Manual Activation
Customers who do not add any of the banks listed above as their bank account will need to download the Remita mandate form and take it to their bank for activation. Once it is activated by the bank, there is no further action that needs to be done as it will be automatically updated on the system.
NOTE:
- The money will only be disbursed to your account when the mandate has been activated.
- If you are having trouble adding your card, you can skip the add debit card step and go ahead to add your account number.
