The Roles Management page displays a list of user Roles that are available on your Originate Merchant Portal, as well as the Permissions allowed for each role. This page is viewable by any user with sufficient rights to manage users.
A user is any member of your team (a teammate) whose profile has been created on your Admin Portal.
Roles
To view the list of roles available on your portal, simply go to Setting → Roles.
The following roles are available by default on your portal:

Admin: This role has all view permissions and edit permissions on the Originate portal.

Client Developer: A user with this role can view all the pages on the portal without the ability to perform any actions.

Application Reviewer: A user with this role has the ability to review an application. They have the ability to view applications and see tasks assigned to them.

Loan Officer: This role grants the ability to approve an application for disbursements. Depending on the workflow created, they could also have the ability to also disburse the loan alongside their approval rights. They have the ability to view applications and see tasks assigned to them.

Disbursement Officer: This role grants the permissions to disburse an approved loan. They only have the ability to view applications and see tasks assigned to them.

Operations Manager: This role has the ability to perform management tasks on the portal including creating users, roles, and workflows. They only have access to the Settings page on the portal.
Permissions
Permissions define the actions that a user can take on the platform. There are two types of Permissions on your Originate Portal

View Permissions: View permissions determine the pages that can be visited by a user with particular permissions. They are defined below:

User can view all users: the user (teammate) can visit the User Management page

User can view loan products: the user can visit the Loan Products page
-
User can view loan applications on the platform: the user can visit the Loans page
-
User can view merchant settings on the platform: the user can visit the Settings page
-
User can view customers on the platform: the user can visit the Customers page
-
User can view liquidity management: the user can visit the Liquidity Management page
- User can view applications report on the platform - the user can view and download the applications report from the reports tab
- User can view repayments report on the platform - the user can view and download the repayments report from the reports tab
- User can view loans report on the platform - the user can view and download the loans report from the reports tab
- User can view accounts report on the platform - the user can view and download the accounts (customer) report from the reports tab
- User can view full BVN - A user who has the User can view full BVN on their role will be able to view the customers’ BVN details and by default, this is the user with Admin privileges.

Edit Permissions - these determine the actions that can be taken by a user with particular permissions. They are defined below:

User can create user - the user can create a new teammate

User can delete a user - the user can delete a teammate

User can update a user - the user can update the role of a teammate

User can create loan products - the user can create a new loan product

User can update loan products - the user can update loan products

User can review a loan for approval - the user can review a loan application

User can delete loan product - the user can delete a loan product

User can approve loan for disbursement - the user can approve a loan application

User can reject a loan application - the user can reject the loan application

User can disburse funds for approved loans - the user can disburse funds for an approved loan

User can make a manual loan repayment - the user can initiate a cash repayment for a loan

User can update an application details - the user can edit the loan amount requested on an application

User can update merchant settings - the user can update settings on the portal
- User can blacklist a customer - the user can blacklist a customer (applicant) and can also whitelist a blacklisted customer
- User can reverse a transaction - the user can reverse a payment transaction on a customer's loan
- User can assign an application - the user can assign an application to a loan officer
- User can update application bank account - the user can change the customer's default bank account and can also add a new back account for a customer

How to Create a New Role
Admin or any user with sufficient permissions can create a new role by following these steps:

Go to Setting → Roles

Click Create New Role
-
Enter the name of the role and select the permissions to be granted to the role. Click on the Create New Role button.
